Listening & Learning

The Portland Metro Concert Band’s “Listening & Learning” program is focused on fostering both enjoyment and education in musical performances. This initiative is designed to enhance audience engagement by not only providing entertainment but also by offering educational insights into the musical pieces being performed. Through this program, concertgoers can expect to learn more about the history, composition, and cultural significance of the music being played. I’ve been a fan of PMCB for years, and their dedication to community service through music is outstanding. They provide great performances, and I love how they mix in traditional band literature with some more modern selections. I always look forward to their annual Northwest Adult Band Festival performance.
